Through a special cooperation between Lanikai Ukuleles, game publisher Kepler Interactive, and game developers at Awaceb, a special edition of the Lanikai LU21-S ukulele will be digitally brought to life in the video game Tchia.
In the game, players explore Tchia’s tropical island in a fun open-world adventure that is inspired by the French archipelago, New Caledonia. During Tchia’s quest, players make new friends, experience exciting and unexpected modes of travel, and learn about Tchia’s culture and music. They can even create their own music on a fully playable ukulele.
“We are extremely excited to be teaming up with Lanikai to help highlight the high quality ukulele features within Tchia and combine that with the high quality ukuleles that Lanikai produces,” states Dan Allman, Senior Marketing Manager of Kepler Interactive.
Along with the Steam release in late March of 2024, a content update for current platforms will allow players to select a specially designed digital Lanikai ukulele as part of their game experience. This digital LU21-S ukulele features a body design inspired by the intricate and beautiful New Caledonian drawing style and is the perfect match for this cooperation as exploring a new world mirrors the boundless fun of exploring a musical instrument and falling in love with it.
In addition to this special in-game ukulele, the game also features a Lanikai shirt that players can select to outfit the heroine Tchia, as she makes her way through her vast and magical world.
“We are excited about this cooperation with Kepler Interactive and Awaceb, not only because it has created a beautiful new design for one of our most popular ukulele models, but we also hope that players will discover the joy of making music through Tchia and explore playing the ukulele outside the game world,” said Lanikai Brand Manager, Rock Clouser.
The two Lanikai in-game items will be included in a free content update on PlayStation and through the Epic Games Store versions of Tchia in late March of 2024. This update will be included in the release of the game on the Steam platform.
